Drop Like Flies——大幅下跌

    !! “Drop like flies” calls to mind flies that are being hit with insecticide spray. It is used for human beings subjected to gunfire or an epidemic of disease.

    !! “Like flies” meant “in great/large numbers or quantities” since Shakespeare’s time and by 1595. The simile is usually referred to a group rather than an individual.
